Spartanburg Herald-Journal: Daughter’s book offers tribute to politician dad

January 5, 2011

The Spartanburg Herald-Journal recently published a great review of Finding True Freedom:

Former Spartanburg County resident, Ginny Dent Brant, has written a memoir about her late father, Harry S. Dent Sr.

Told through the loving eyes of a daughter, “Finding True Freedom” offers readers a glimpse into the personal life and struggles of Dent and follows his “spiritual transformation” from political strategist to evangelist.

Brant will sign copies from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 8 in Walker Hall at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind. Brant and husband, Alton, and their three sons lived in Spartanburg County for 20 years. Ginny was a counselor for 10 years at Roebuck Elementary School. She also taught child growth and development and supervised student teachers as an adjunct instructor at the University of South Carolina Spartanburg, now USC Upstate.
