The Healing Benefits of Exercise

Whether you’re preventing cancer, getting through the treatments, or trying to prevent a recurrence, mark exercise down as a powerful promoter of healing. What’s even better is that it’s God-given and free.

I wrote this article for Conquer Magazine (a magazine for cancer patients). It shows how exercise helped me to make it through each part of my cancer treatments. What’s even more interesting is that much of this information was not known when I was undergoing chemotherapy. My decision to walk two miles before and after each 8-hour chemo and every day in between was purely by instinct and to reduce stress. Several years later, research in Australia and at MD Anderson would prove that what I did actually helped my chemo to target my cancer. It also benefitted me in so many other ways.
