The first step of eight in my book, “Unleash Your God-Given Healing” is proper hydration. Why is it step number one? It was the first step I learned and it has the most benefits for the cost. The cost is literally zero! As time goes on, I keep learning even more about hydration. I can emphatically say that it benefits every cell and every system including our immune function in our bodies.
Today was my eye appointment with Dr. Jenkins. He is beloved in this community and also known as a doctor who believes in holistic and integrative medicine. When talking aobbut my new book, he asked, “What is your first step?” When I told him—hydration, that’s when he gave me his own story from his practice.
A mother brought a teenager in the office for a first time visit. She normally had perfect vision, but it had literally changed over night. After performing the usual tests and finding no cause, he asked the mom to increase her hydration for one week and then bring her back. Bingo, her vision was back to normal.
Since I finished my book, I’ve discovered several more ways proper hydration protects us. And vision is one of them. If we allow ourselves to become dehydrated, we can suffer loss of vision. The eye must have proper hydration to function properly.
In addition, I’ve learned that our sinus cavity and respiratory system has a mucus lining that is empowered by water. When a germ or bacteria enters our nose, many times this mucus lining can eliminate the foreign invader. This just gives us more armor to lessen our susceptibility to COVID-19.
These two revelations are an addition to the following ailments which are influenced by dehydration (see Chapter 2 in my book):
Asthma and allergies
Blood Clots
Headaches
Constipation
Cancer
Diabetes
Kidney stones
High blood pressure
Heartburn
High cholesterol
Migraines
Lupus
Joint Pain
Inability to think
Peptic ulcers
Seizures (caused by dehydration)
Yes, water impacts every cell and every system in our body. Increased hydration can also be used to lessen the side effects when undergoing chemotherapy. The benefits to proper hydration are unending. Almost every prescription drug has dehydration as a potential side effect. So increase hydration when taking these medications.
What other issues have you found that are influenced by dehydration?
For Your Health,
