It’s been a joy to get to know Stacy McCants. He got married later in life and had children in his early 40’s. At the age of 45, he had a heart attack. It was the fear of what his children and wife would endure if he passed that motivated him to research and make productive lifestyle changes. Fear drove me to do the same. So what do heart disease and cancer have in common? More than you might think.
Whether heart disease or cancer, Stacy’s and my research uncovered many of the same lifestyle changes. Yes, the same eight-lifestyle changes in my book, “Unleash Your God-Given Healing,” also prevent and reverse heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, autoimmune disorders, and many chronic diseases. These same changes also help prevent and lessen the symptoms of cases of flu, viruses—even Covid-19.
Stacy and I both went on a mission to prevent disease. He reversed his heart disease with lifestyle changes. I improved my prognosis during cancer treatments and changed the terrain in my body to improve my chances my cancer would not return.
Many diseases are 90 percent related to lifestyle and only 10 percent related to genetics. We both learned that the more plants we eat, the better off our bodies will be. Plants are a key to preventing and reversing heart disease and cancer. What we do matters. How we live our faith to manage our stress and emotions matters. We need to exercise daily.
Our experiences also impacted our faith leading us to a stronger faith and a different mission in life. Stacy left his corporate career to pursue a new career in interviewing Christians about how God is working in their lives. The result is his podcast called A Stronger Faith. I’m on a mission to help others to prevent diseases and cancer, and I mentor cancer patients through the journey.
A few weeks ago, Stacy drove to our home from Tuscaloosa, Alabama to have an up-close and personal interview with me about what I learned from my cancer journey and how it impacted my faith. It’s amazing how God provided us all with a self-healing and miraculous immune system, yet we were both blind to how our lifestyles were suppressing it rather than capitalizing on it.
